This was our first year at Sogen Con , based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Based out of the Sioux Falls Convention Center, attached to a Sheraton Hotel, this convention was a breath of fresh air after 2 large conventions in a row. |

The big local anime convention, Nan Desu Kan , has come and gone once again. This is THE event for Colorado anime fans and many spend all year getting ready for it, all other conventions aside. This is big for us as well, being local dealers, as well as participants in the convention itself. Photos are available in the Photo Gallery. |

This weekend is Denver's largest Anime Event, Nan Desu Kan 08 . This year they've got quite the show going, including the last minute addition of Japanese voice actors: Noriko Hidaka (Kikyo in "Inu Yasha", Near in "Death Note" & Akane Tendo in "Ranma 1/2") and Yūji Mitsuya (Dr. Tofu in "Ranma 1/2" and Supreme Kai in "Dragonball Z").
As usual, we will be closing up the store to set up shop in the NDK Dealer's room. We'll be closing early on Thursday and won't be open again until the Tuesday after. As usual, all of those rentals due that weekend while we are closed will be due on Tuesday instead. |

We have returned from AnimeFest in Dallas over the Labor Day weekend. I attended AnimeFest in the mid-90's when I lived in Austin for a couple of years and there was a decent sized group of us from Denver who attended Project A-kon from 2-10, so going back to Dallas was a bit of a homecoming.
