 On April 1st, Gimme Anime suffered a not-so-nice prank. We were robbed of a fair amount of merchandise, including t-shirts, DVDs and collectible items. We are asking people to keep their eyes and ears open as to who may have done this. Fingerprints and survellience tapes have been turned over to the Aurora Police. For those not paying attention to the Anime News Network feed on the right side, some changes in the US anime industry has spelled out some real consequences for retailers and fans alike. As of now, Geneon will not longer be distributing any DVDs, which not only affects their titles, but those of another company that they were partnered with, Bandai Visual. What this means for now is that Geneon and Bandai Visual DVDs will not be available once our distributors have run out of stock, which is happening quickly as several series have disappeared from order lists even now. It also means that any titles that have not finished, such as Hellsing Ultimate and Black Lagoon will not be finished until Geneon negotiated with with some other company to take over the translation, dubbing and distribution. After 5 years in the same spot, we are now at a new location, and the best part is that we are only down the street! Our new location is at 2790 S. Havana St, Ste V, Aurora, CO 80014-8601, near Bicycle Village, across the street from Mile Hi Honda. Just look for the familiar ANIME sign! |
